Decathlon Field Trip

All for sports, sports for all is the motto of the shop, where we had taken our kindergarten children for the field trip. It is very important for all of us to understand the significance of the sports and exercise in our daily life and to instill the habit of playing sports, so we had planned the trip to Decathlon.

On 20th of November, 2014 the students of Kindergarten (Nursery, Jr.Kg and Sr.kg) went for a field trip to visit a sports shop named ‘Decathlon’ in Wagholi. The purpose of the field trip was to help children get the exposure to a variety of sports and their respective sports equipments and understand the importance of sports in our lives.

The students left the school at 9:30 a.m. and reached by 9:45 a.m. The children were divided into groups each accompanied by a teacher and a trained staff from the shop. The children saw a variety of sports equipments section wise like hiking, swimming, archery, basket ball, football, tennis (lawn and table tennis), badminton, darting, cricket, health and fitness etc. All kinds of information were provided about different sports equipments and accessories used in a particular game or sport. The children were excited and curious to know about the different sports and their equipments and inquired about it by asking questions to the volunteers who were taking them on a round of the sports shop.

The volunteers from the shop gave a few demonstration of how to use a sport equipments like bow and arrow in archery, how to play with a racket and a shuttle cock, how to skip etc. The children also felt the texture of the different materials that are used to make sports equipments keeping in mind the where and when the sport is played.

The children had fun playing on the trampoline in the end. They played foot ball and basket ball in the playing area. Lots of energy and enthusiasm was seen on the field. The children boarded the bus after having fruits and reached school by 11:30 a.m. Overall it was a fun filled and informative field trip.
